OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Description

Occupational therapy is a health profession that aims to help patients become more self-reliant by alleviating their permanent or temporary disabilities that occured as a result of an accident. To do this, the occupational therapist evaluates the person and, if necessary, his or her environment (eg work environment) by means of simulations, then offers tools to help manage and better perform the activities of daily living which are limited. If necessary, the occupational therapist may recommend assistive devices and identify ways to compensate for residual disabilities. Occupational therapy can therefore also be beneficial in case of motor disorders related to old age.
